Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Bhabani are officially divorced

Almost a year after they filed for separation, Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Babhani have been granted the divorce. The couple was married for 15 years before they decided to part ways in January 2016. It came as a shock in January 2016 when Bollywood actor-director-singer Farhan Akhtar announced that he and his wife Adhuna plan to go separate ways after 15 years of marriage. Now, almost 18 months after the announcement, a Bandra family court reportedly granted divorce to the former couple on Monday.

The couple who were together for 16 years, have two daughters, Shakiya and Akira. According to the divorce settlement, both of them will stay with their mother and Farhan can visit them monthly. The couple married in year 2000 and were said to be most understanding celebrity couples among the Bollywood couples. Farhan Akthar will now concentrate on his career more than ever. He started his film career as the maker of Dil Chahta Hai and created a sensation with his directorials like Don, Lakshya. He turned into an actor with Rock on and won National Award for his performance as Milkha Singh in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. He also turned into a singer and gave stage performances all over India.
